“When It Goes Down” is dance/pop for an all-year summer from SoCal’s @DreeMonmusic

DREE MON, “When It Goes Down”

Who says you can’t have a great time dancing the night away and still appreciate the person that you rely on, to be there when you need them the most?  That’s the appeal of “When It Goes Down” by SoCal singer/songwriter Dree Mon.  She returns to spread the easy going dance/pop we previously heard in songs like “No Chill” and “Rebel Soul” last year.  With a song like “When It Goes Down”, summer can indeed be all year round, and Dree’s enthusiasm in her vocal is contagious, along with an undeniable hook that owes much to classic 70’s and 80’s hits.  When the bass keeps thumping that beat out a good time will be had by all, positive messages conveyed in the process.  “When It Goes Down” will find a happy place on any summer dance music playlist.

Check out breezy, effervescent “No Chill” by California’s @DreeMonmusic

DREE MON, “No Chill”

Following up her single “Rebel Soul” which I wrote about recently, L.A.-based singer/songwriter Dree Mon brings us the sunshiny melody of “No Chill”.  It’s a breezy and effervescent song with all ears on Dree’s vocal.  The song will instantly remind you of Clean Bandit’s “Rather Be” in spots – not a bad thing at all! – and Dree’s singing would fit right in next to brits like Jess Glynne and Rita Ora.  But there’s more to it, a soulful edge that recalls Alicia Keys but maybe forbears like Roberta Flack or Anita Baker too.  But “No Chill” is a snappy pop song that will get you out of your chair and on your feet to celebrate something or other.  With songs like “No Chill”, we can definitely look forward to more great songs from Dree Mon this year.  Listen at the link up top and pick up “No Chill” at your favourite digital music store.

“Rebel Soul” by @DreeMonmusic is classy R&B-influenced pop for sunny days

DREE MON, “Rebel Soul”

I always enjoy hearing when songs I’ve heard privately finally get their deserving day to shine on official release.  Such is the case with “Rebel Soul” by L.A.-based singer/songwriter Dree Mon, who has already had her songs showcased in TV shows like “Parenthood” and “White Collar”.  With her band under this new project name, she has been establishing a local live show reputation in southern California.  “Rebel Soul” is all about 80’s and 90’s pop and R&B vibes with modern day Tori Kelly stylings influenced by the funk of Daft Punk and the slick soul of Jamiroquai, for instantly appealing results.  This is one for kicking it back to do whatever you want on a sunny day at the beach and showing those true rebel colours.  Dree Mon taps into a warm, easy-going style to which anyone can be easily drawn.  Check out “Rebel Soul” at the link above and pick it up at your favourite digital music store.
