Slow burn: @SeanSmithsolo’s “Fire” tantalizes

UK singer (and former member of Same Difference) Sean Smith follows up the bold and sexy “Magic” (which recently got to #7 on my chart in its Andy Sikorski remix) with something more taut called “Fire”.  Co-written by that amazing twosome of Charlie Mason and Daniel Volpe and set to a snappy house rhythm, “Fire” takes the slow burn approach.  It starts off quiet and mysterious and lingers a bit before making its point.  Sean’s diverse vocal makes a fine song even that much better.  Keep “Fire” on that music burner long enough and you’ll feel it in your bones 🙂  Enough plays on words – check out the lyrics video at the link up top.

WORLD PREMIERE: Spain’s @We_Architects meet L.A.’s Eddy Faulkner @Eddyftw2 for lyrical banger “Fire”

We all need someone in our lives who helps to keep us going to the next level at whatever stages in life we are at.  That’s the basis of L.A.-based singer/songwriter Eddy Faulkner’s “Fire”, for which I have its world premiere 🙂 He’s paired up with Spanish producers/DJs/remixers We Architects, who have recently dropped a number of remixes such as Robin Schulz and David Guetta’s current collaboration.  You’re on the right track if you might believe that this is a lyrical pop song set for a worthy transformation for the dance floor.  Though “Fire” is somewhat understated at the start, relying on Eddy’s voice and story to draw you in, the song is jump-started around the minute mark by We Architects’ engaging production ,which allows the song to take off in a direction you wouldn’t have expected from the beginning.  The balance of the music is so suited for Eddy’s expressive vocal, and “Fire” becomes a dramatic but touching celebration of the sparks in our lives that are often needed.  Add it to your Spotify playlist using the link above.

Latvian Singer @MarkusRiva Cranks It Up with “Fire”

Many of us first met him through his contribution to last year’s This Beat Is Poptronik! Volume One compilation “How It Feels To Be A Man” (which got to #7 on my personal chart).  Latvian singer/DJ/producer/presenter/model Markus Riva is back with “Fire”.  And you can think all things literal about that word.  The songs seethes with anguish about a love gone wrong, and it will just pour out of loud club speakers as the dance unfolds.  The video plays on this and comes off as intense but very watchable.  The brooding vocals are Markus sounding his absolute gruffest.  Look for this single on iTunes.
