“Higher” is new, dramatic and crunchy from @Lemaitremusic featuring Maty @Noyes

LEMAITRE featuring MATY NOYES, “Higher”

“Higher” is going to be one of those songs that club goers will be talking about and jamming to all summer long.  It’s a bit of a shift this time for Norwegian duo Lemaitre -who were more recently emphasizing a rock-inflected sound, particularly in concert last year with a full band and lots of guitars – to a dramatic, atmospheric sound thanks to the distinct vocal of dance music go-to Maty Noyes.  And aside from Maty’s glorious tones, the rhythm is crunchy future bass/trap that will have more than heads bobbing.  All in all, it’s an intoxicating mix that the most picky of dance/EDM fans will thoroughly enjoy, signalling signs of more terrific Lemaitre tunes on the way from their upcoming Chapter One album.

CHRISTOFI featuring MALIA, “Higher”

L.A.’s Michael Christofi is back with another winner of a totally different bent with “Higher”.  You’ll recall his funky classic house pairing with J-VEN called “Don’t Need You”, which is currently gracing the BILLCS Top 30.  “Higher” is all about energetic house music of the early 90’s – good reference points might be “Show Me Love” by Robin S. for its rhythm or “Finally” by CeCe Peniston for its exuberance – featuring an engaged soul-tinged vocal by singer Malia.  “Higher” really sparkles and will keep you moving up, up, up and away…  Get it for free at the link above.

Dance music bliss pairs @DJMirkoB with @AntonEwald for “Higher”

DJ MIRKO B featuring ANTON EWALD, “Higher”

Well this fortunate pairing came somewhat out of the blue, but works like a dream.  Italian producer DJ Mirko B features Sweden’s current golden boy Anton Ewald on “Higher”.  The song has already made significant dents in the European dance market, and by all rights North America shouldn’t be far behind (though the song doesn’t appear to be available in Canada yet).  It’s high arpeggio-laden progressive Italo-disco that will easily have dance club patrons jumping.  But the song is more accessible than that – it will have you immediately recalling recent releases by the likes of Nervo, Nicky Romero, or even Calvin Harris.  “Higher” deserves to be a smash – well done to both fine talents for putting it together.  Watch the lyric video above.
