@CarlosdNobrega puts his own unique spins into @JohnLegend’s “All Of Me” (free DL)

CARLOS NOBREGA, “All Of Me” (free download)

It’s hard sometimes to write about a cover of a song that has been recorded to death, but fortunately John Legend’s “All Of Me” is timeless and when the right voice invests in it, then the rendition works well.  Such is the case with Portugal’s Carlos Nóbrega, who has released his cover as part of a free download collection called Songs I Wish I Wrote (Piano Sessions).  This of course is in anticipation of Carlos’ long-awaited album, which I expect will be much more of a rousing dance party 🙂  You can’t really stray too much from the original of a song like “All Of Me” or it won’t work.  The key here is Carlos’ emotional vocal.  This talented singer and actor is a lover, not a fighter, and he puts a few beautiful vocal spins into the mix to make his own interpretation stand out.  Download it for free at the link above, along with the accompanying and equally lovely covers of Sia’s “Breathe Me” and A Great Big World’s “Say Something”.

All Eyes on More Sensational Covers by @JamesPoole_ : “Glad You Came” and “All Of Me”

JAMES POOLE, “Glad You Came” and “All Of Me”

You know that when my most recent blog post was about the same singer that there is something special happening here.  I raved about UK singer James Poole’s rendition of “Titanium”, and must draw to your attention two of his other interpretations of The Wanted’s “Glad You Came” (posted today!) and John Legend’s “All Of Me”.  Again, oft covered songs, but James totally smashes them.  His rendition of “All Of Me” is pretty straight forward, with a gorgeous vocal, but his video is up close and personal with a sincere performance that will make you feel like you’re the only person he’s singing to, with those blue eyes searing right through you.  “Glad You Came” has a scruffier looking James mixing it up with his own variation of the song that adds some dashing spoken words which will definitely keep you interested.  James Poole has one of the finest voices I’ve heard in a long time and I look forward to the day when a full album surfaces.

Watch @MattBlueMusic Take On John Legend’s “All Of Me”

MATT BLUE, “All Of Me” (short video)

It’s a very timely choice, but the young Dutchman with the far-reaching voice, Matt Blue, is back with his take on John Legend’s “All of Me”, which he informed me about earlier today, and I’m not going to let this one wait.  It’s a unique version because Matt’s power and slight rasp replaces John’s trademark silky voice.  Plus, it’s a pleasing change of pace for Matt too after a couple of lesser known (except to readers of this blog though 😉 ) Euro-EDM triumphs “Can’t Help Myself (Keep Dancing)”) and “Outta My Mind”.  What it does most of course is make you want to hear the full song and more of what this exceptionally talented singer can offer.  Watch the short video below.
