“Toxic” is mysterious deep house with a burbling rhythm from Austin’s @MiggyMilla

MIGGY MILLA, “Toxic”

It’s not a cover of the Britney Spears smash, but “Toxic” will certainly appeal to fans of that song as well as anyone who likes their deep house with a mysterious side and a burbling synth melody underneath.  I wrote about Miggy Milla’s “Tragedy” not long ago, and this is quite a different turn from the Austin singer of Filipino heritage.  Miggy definitely turns on the charm again with his soft, provocative vocal, which easily draws you in while the rich synth work and production take care of the dancing department.  “Toxic” is an ear-turner that’s definitely a step in the right direction for Miggy Milla.

Austin-based Filipino-American singer @MiggyMilla lays on the charm with “Tragedy”

MIGGY MILLA, “Tragedy”

Miggy Milla is a charismatic new pop singer/songwriter/producer to watch, having honed his craft after living in NYC and attending Berklee College of Music.  “Tragedy” follows up his EP Perfect Stranger as a song that quickly slides under your skin and makes you want to hear more from the Filipino-American singer, who now resides in Austin.  “Tragedy” starts off with a subtle, quiet melody and slowly builds to capture the essence of the lyrics.  From his performance in the video above, Miggy looks like one who aims to please in concert.  In fact his charm overwhelms the rest of the video, which weaves a vague story that leaves more questions than answers.  But “Tragedy” as a song is well-worth your attention and a fine introduction to Miggy Milla.
