Quirky & Quiet Retro iTouch Shuffle Mix

Sometimes letting the iTouch go to shuffle comes up with some interesting mixes of music that you wouldn’t put together yourself.  Here’s what I heard on the drive to work this morning.  Pretty quirky and quiet until the last songs – makes me wonder what I’ll hear on the drive home 🙂

Michael Buble “Sway (Ralphi’s Salsation vox edit)” (2004)

Andy Bell “Crazy” (2005 – Electric Blue album)

Tony Stone “This Is Serious (extended mix)” (1988)

Fashion “Dressed To Kill” (1982 – Fabrique album)

Steve Winwood “The Finer Things” (1987)

Jai “Cry Me A River” (1998 – Heaven album)

Book Of Love “I Touch Roses” (1986)

Kaiser Chiefs “Thank You Very Much” (2007 – Yours Truly, Angry Mob album)

Madonna & Justin Timberlake “4 Minutes” (2008)

I’ll try and post links to a few of the more obscure songs later.

Latest iTouch Shuffle Mix

After today’s looooonnnng day, it seems like talking about yesterday’s iTouch shuffle mix on a trek into downtown Toronto seems so….. well, yesterday.  But it’s a good, interesting mostly retro mix that I want to share with you.

Karyn White “Romantic” (1991)

Boys Brigade “Into The Flow” (1983)

matchbox twenty “How Far We’ve Come”

Royal Society “You Say (It Was Supposed To Be)”

Bram Tchaikovsky “Shall We Dance” (1981)

Elvis Costello & The Attractions “(I Don’t Want To Go To) Chelsea” (1979)

Gavin DeGraw “Follow Through”

OneRepublic “Stop & Stare”

Red Hot Chili Peppers “Scar Tissue” (1999)

Maxi Priest featuring Shaggy “That Girl” (1996)

Suzanne Vega featuring Joe Jackson “Left Of Centre” (1986)

Grace Jones “Private Life” (1980)

“Private Life” was a cover of a Chrissie Hynde tune from Grace’s CD of cover songs called Nightclubbing.  The video for that song wasn’t so hot but I did find the classic video for the now 61 year old Grace’s cover of Sting’s “Demolition Man” from the same album.  Enjoy!

Hugh Masekela “Don’t Go Lose It Baby”

From my iTouch shuffle…

Because I have a 45-60 minute drive to and from work on weekdays, and am really sick of the repetition of radio (yeah it only took me xx amount of years, right), my iTouch gets a regular workout – though I’ve got to add some more music soon!  2000+ songs just don’t seem to be enough!  Anyway, here’s what this morning’s drive to work shot at me.  It seemed to be in an 80’s mood today I guess  🙂

Dalbello “Guilty By Association”

The Hollies “Bus Stop”

Images In Vogue “Lust For Love”

Cetu Javu “Situations”

Elvis Costello & The Attractions “Everyday I Write The Book” (classic video below)

Keshia Chante featuring Foxy Brown “Does He Love Me”

Big Audio Dynamite “The Bottom Line”

The Looters “No Man’s Land”

Ciara featuring Chamillionaire “Get Up”

Spoons “Conventional Beliefs”

Amy Winehouse “Tears Dry On Their Own”

MC Hammer “Pray”

Days Of The New “The Down Town”
