I’ve got nothing else to add about the new chart as it approaches its 700th edition (!!), so I’ll let the music do the talking.
Remember – my blog posts are all about DISCOVERY, so let the music in!!
Check out my ONLINE RADIO SHOWS below as they are now directly tied in with this blog. As most of you know, I host 3 online radio shows – The Big 20 and two iterations of Your Weekend New Music Mix – and produce 2 online radio segments – my new music and retro picks of the week – that are all pre-recorded. The Big 20 and the picks of the week are happily being syndicated and you can find the current schedule for all at the bottom of the home page of this blog.
“Mi Amor” reigns supreme for another chart for Dutch dance producer Sam Feldt and vocalists JVKE and Anitta. Let’s keep the summery sounds going for the next while! Can’t wait to see Sam perform in Toronto at Woodbine Park on September 21 with Kygo and Hayla!
Speaking of Kygo, climbing 4-2 is another triad of talent, Norwegian producer Kygo with vocalist/songwriter Zak Abel and the legendary Nile Rodgers, with “For Life” (above). Both Kygo and Nile have been to #2 on my chart before, Kygo in 2019 with Whitney Houston on “Higher Love”, and Nile with Daft Punk and Pharrell Williams on “Get Lucky” in 2013. And you’re seeing/hearing double Nile in the Top 5 as Purple Disco Machine’s collaboration with him, Benjamin Ingrosso and Shenseea, “Honey Boy” (below), climbs 9-5!
Making short work of the Top 10 is the irresistible “Chocolate” (above)by Swedish production duos Jubël and NOTD, which zips up 10-3. You can also check out NOTD’s collab with Why Don’t We’s Corbyn Besson, “Panic”, below.

Benson Boone’s “Slow It Down” (above) rises 13-7, becoming his 6th Top 10 entry. Check out Benson’s new single, not on his Fireworks and Rollerblades album, called “Pretty Slowly”, below.
Also new to the Top 10 are the thought-provoking “Space Party” (above) by Spains’ The Boy From The South, up 12-9, becoming his third consecutive Top 10 entry, and Greyson Chance’s heartfelt “Rearview Mirror” (11-10, below), which is his 6th in the Top 10.
Making short work of the Top 10 is “For Life” (above) by Kygo, Zak Abel and Nile Rodgers, which zips up the chart 10-4. Kygo’s other chart entry, “Without You” (below) with previous chart-topper Hayla, climbs 27-21.
The Fastest Riser on the chart is Kygo’s collaboration with UK singer/songwriter Hayla, from Kygo’s self-titled album, “Without You”, which soars 21-11, featuring another memorable powerhouse vocal by Hayla.
“Lover” is the shiny recent release by The Knocks and indie duo Dolores Forever, which surges 19-13.
“End Of Time” by Dutch production duo Lucas & Steve and British producer LAWRENT with UK singer/songwriter Jordan Shaw moves up 24-17, and recently reached #1 on the North American dance radio chart.
Right behind is Australian singer/songwriter/producer Jude York’s first solo dance outing called “Monaco”, which bounces 25-18.
Canadian singer/songwriter Alex Sampson has made it to the live performances as a contestant on TV’s “America’s Got Talent” and we wish him all the best. His recent single “Pretty Baby”, which he performed on the show, climbs 29-23.
As the release of his latest album Telos approaches, Zedd’s collaboration with singer Bea Miller, “Out Of Time”, is the Highest Debut on the chart at #25. The new album also features John Mayer, Muse, and the late Jeff Buckley, so I’ll be curious how it all turns out. “Out Of Time” is Zedd’s fifth chart entry and first appearance on this chart since 2017’s “Stay” (with Alessia Cara)!!
Also making an appearance for the first time since 2017 (is this a pattern?) are The Killers with “Bright Lights” at #26. It’s their 10th chart entry, and revives the big energetic rock sound that Jim Steinman songs brought to singers like Meat Loaf, Bonnie Tyler and many others.
BTS’ JIMIN gets his third chart entry with “Who”, the lead single from his latest EP Muse, which arrives at #27. Like last year’s “Like Crazy” (my #1 song of 2023), it’s moody and has a crackerjack hook, but JIMIN has such a great voice he doesn’t need all of the production effects that have been added.
