Gentle hurt gets the @BrightLightx2 treatment with “Blood Moon (I Did Give You Love)”

BRIGHT LIGHT BRIGHT LIGHT, “Blood Moon (I Did Give You Love)”

It’s hard to find the many different sides of love that make up a sometimes indecipherable, intangible object.  Rod Thomas has a knack for finding them through his own experiences and observations, as readers of this blog know very well since I first started writing about Bright Light Bright Light in early 2010.  “Blood Moon (I Did Give You Love)” is an introspective new single, on release October 30, which takes the singer off the dance floor for a bit and into a reflection on romance where he clearly wonders what went wrong and if he meant anything at all in the relationship.  It’s a hard place to find oneself and Rod’s gentle way of detailing it all makes “Blood Moon” work so well.  Think of it as an introduction to the next full Bright Light Bright Light project.  BLx2 is currently on tour in select cities with much-praised singer/songwriter John Grant.
