“American Idol” fave David Archuleta @DavidArchie returns with breezy and fun “Movin'”

A lot of pop music fans felt that David Archuleta should have won “American Idol” over David Cook back in the day. But now at age 30, it’s great to know that David’s music career continues to forge ahead independently after last year’s Therapy Sessions album with the mid-tempo, friendly dance rhythms of “Movin'”.  Using flavours that highlighted some of Rick Astley’s hits, at 2:36 it’s a super-quick taste for sure, but the change up in style totally suits David’s sincere vocal.  “Movin'” has an alternate “After Hours” take (below, 2:46) that adds some additional synth flourishes, but otherwise is a breezy, fun pop/dance release that might be improved with a full remix and an extended version for clubs. David, as always, with his versatile voice could pretty much sing anything and make it work, but “Movin'” stands out because of its clean, straight-forward sound, and could usher in a new era for him
