STEVEN THAD and GREG MILLER, “Everything”
I’ve introduced you twice to the new music of DMV (Washington DC-Maryland-Virginia) area singer/songwriter Steven Thad, and he’s back this time with a faithful, bubbly cover of Michael Bublé’s “Everything” (originally from the 2007 album Call Me Irresponsible). This time he’s brought along buddy Greg Miller and their take on it is an interesting slice of contrast. Greg kicks off “Everything” and you’ll hear from a few bars in that he has a well-honed, Broadway styled voice that suits the song. Then it’s Steven’s turn, and he brings his softer, soulful, good-natured charm to the story. You can’t deny the enthusiasm behind this cover. And you’ll hear more Bublé and other covers and originals in Steven’s upcoming second EP Pop Man in June. What “Everything” lacks as a DIY production is more than compensated by the performances. I’d love to see what a good producer could do for Steven!
