“My Kind Of Girl” as remixed by Australia’s @Throttle returns @MichaelBuble to clubland

THROTTLE x MICHAEL BUBLÉ, “My Kind Of Girl”

Young Australian producer/remixer Throttle is showing why he is becoming increasingly in demand and performing at concerts like Tomorrowland, with his reshaping of Michael Bublé’s lovely “My Kind Of Girl” for clubland.  What’s great about this remix is that it retains the jazzy flavour of the original, and actually works it up against the playful drops and torrent of synths that are added – Throttle calls it Dirty Disco.  Think of “We No Speak Americano” or “Mambo #9” without the novelty; Throttle’s remix of “My Kind Of Girl” is an immediate dance floor filler.  It will draw out the romantics for the jazzy side of the song, and if they have some moves, they can bust them right along those who do not.  Club DJ’s would be wise to incorporate Throttle’s remix of “My Kind Of Girl” at the height of a busy evening.  You may recall Michael Bublé’s songs were in dance clubs from the getgo, through 2004’s Ralphi Rosario mix of the classic “Sway” 🙂  If you have a Bit Torrent client, you can download it for free from the link above.

High-powered #EDM for a good cause: @iamDMNO remixes “Never Gonna Leave” by @Aryay

ARYAY, “Never Gonna Leave” (DMNO remix) (free DL)

I’m glad to see EDM performers and remixers involved with more philanthropy and supporting great causes, and a great example comes via Chicago’s Aryay and British remixer DMNO.  A new high powered trap-fused future bass mix of “Never Gonna Leave” has arrived with a classic Chicago house sound at its roots.  It’s not too relentless though as DMNO makes some sweet adjustments in the mix to tantalize your senses before you bust loose again.  If you support the song then be sure to donate to Kids Off The Block, which will help at-risk youth get the support they need to keep them off the streets and out of harms way.  Donate right here and download the song for free at the link above.

“Paradise” by @Shane54music featuring #JennyJordan is fiery Eurohouse

SHANE 54 featuring JENNY JORDAN, “Paradise” (original and remixes)

Hungarian producer Shane 54 captures a variety of EDM styles and elements in “Paradise”, featuring an alluring vocal by Jenny Jordan.  He kicks up the Eurohouse flavour several notches with progressive big room elements that you might not usually find in a song like this, making it hit hard at times, which club DJ’s will absolutely love.  He brings it up and down at all of the right times and it’s a breezy, involving 3 and a half minutes.  A number of remixes are available too but Maddix gets a big two thumbs up for playing on the same song structure by revving it up with both progressive and retro techno vibes, highly complimentary to the original.  “Paradise” has loads of potential and with Nettwerk Records on board you can bet a lot of activity will be on deck.  Check out the original and remixes in the set above.

PREMIERE: @AdamFostermusic’s Dialect Radio Mix 001 featuring @Fambamusic

It’s a @FelixCartal double whammy: New “Drifting Away” feat. @heyOfelia plus @BenZamoramusic’s rich remix of “Keep Up” feat. @iamStephJones

FELIX CARTAL featuring OFELIA K, “Drifting Away”

FELIX CARTAL featuring STEPH JONES, “Keep Up” (Ben Zamora remix) (free DL)

As he tours the USA, Vancouver’s Felix Cartal has plenty of great dance music out there to keep you entertained.  His latest, “Drifting Away”, featuring a seductive vocal by Ofelia K., has pop and dance radio potential with a tight, balanced song structure that will keep you listening and dancing the night away.  Club DJ’s should be all over this one and I’ll await the remixes!!

In the meantime, Ben Zamora is someone to watch after his remixes of songs by the likes of Galantis, and in concert appearances such as opening for Shaun Frank in their home town of Toronto in September.  Featuring yet another fine, soaring vocal by Steph Jones (most recently heard on Tritonal’s album), Felix’s “Keep Up” receives a rich official remix from Ben.  It’s really quite playful and upbeat, perfect for that great evening out in a club with your favourite people.  For now you can get Ben’s remix along with the other official ones for free at the link above.

Listen to @iamEauClaire’s thoughtful original “All The Wonder” also in a @LoFrames remix

EAU CLAIRE, “All The Wonder”, also in a LoFrames remix

After making her name well known across North America as a producer/DJ and remixer, Washington, DC-based Eau Claire has launched her own recording career with her EP All The Wonder.  And unlike many other performing women in the EDM genre, Eau Claire has chosen to sing the title song.  As a producer, it makes perfect sense as she’s written for her own voice and the results are not only assured but pretty darned catchy as well.  The sparkling keyboards and melody all join forces with the vocal to make a solid song structure to keep you more than interested throughout.  And French duo LoFrames have come up with their own darker, unique-sounding take on the song that sends it through some Daft Punk-ish kind of motions, particularly right before the 3 minute mark, which will sound fabulous on big club speakers.  You can pick up Eau Claire’s EP and the LoFrames remix on your favourite digital platform, but check them both out at the links above.

Drop that house: “Be My Love” by @Mahalo_music featuring #CatLewis

MAHALO featuring CAT LEWIS, “Be My Love”

“Be My Love” is just about everything that a slicker-than-average house track can be.  House is such a versatile dance genre and L.A.’s Mahalo embraces it with wonderfully evocative 90s flavoured synths and piano, while Cat Lewis delivers one of those powerful top liners that makes other producers and DJ’s simply rave.  Neither are well-established yet but potent original songs like “Be My Love” are the tickets to send them on their way, this time courtesy of Swiss label No Definition.  “Be My Love” is a superb follow up to Mahalo’s recent late-nite-L.A. take on “La La Land” by Shaun Frank, DVBBS and Delaney Jane.  You’ll want to head over to Beatport to listen to and download “Be My Love” at the above link.

Gimme more of that funky stuff: @Jenauxmusic meets @BrynChristopher for “I Want Your Love”

JENAUX featuring BRYN CHRISTOPHER, “I Want Your Love”

NYC producer/DJ Jenaux continues the wild ride he’s been on throughout 2016 with his funk-laced EDM with “I Want Your Love”.  It’s his debut release for none other than the Ministry of Sound label, and is a collaboration with UK singer/songwriter Bryn Christopher (otherwise known these days as a member of EDM group I See Monstas).  It’s a straight-forward but powerful record, bridging Jenaux’s US funk sound with British soul/house.  Like with his last original release “Get It On”, he uses a fierce chopped up high pitched vocal to excellent, easily recognizable effect.  After his recent collaboration with Tritonal for “Broken” (featuring Adam Lambert) and remixes for Gramatik, The Chainsmokers and a number of other A-list EDM talent this year, Jenaux will continue on roller skates touring and releasing new songs as the rest of the world discovers his genuinely appealing, stand out take on dance music.  Check out “I Want Your Love” at the link above.

“D E E P in NY” is an amazing hip hop EDM rework by @BobbyNourmand featuring #DOC and #Goodmorning

BOBBY NOURMAND featuring D.O.C. and Goodmorning, “D E E P in NY” (free DL)

There’s no doubt in my mind that L.A.-based producer/DJ Bobby Nourmand is one of EDM’s most inventive talents who should break more ground with tracks like “D E E P in NY”.  It’s based on his previous release “D E E P”, which I wrote about a while back, a fan favourite which now receives this amazing transformation into a compelling mix of hip hop and EDM, featuring vocalists D.O.C. and Goodmorning.  While it retains mid-80’s house elements of the original, which also skew some British house flavour, this redux is highly cutting edge and will draw in fans of Drake, Bryson Tiller, Anderson.Paak and more – this is often an entirely different and younger audience, and they’ll just love it.  And aside from clubs embracing it – which should be easy 🙂 – it could make for interesting late night radio fare too.  “D E E P in NY” is Bobby Nourmand at his creative best.  Download it for free above and you’ll be all smiles 😀

Another Canadian to watch: @Fambamusic nails classic house with a twist with “Right Here Right Now”

FAMBA, “Right Here Right Now” (extended version)

The folks at Armada have brought us some great new talent this year, and one is under my own Canadian doorstep, although in Halifax.  Famba’s extended version of “Right Here Right Now” is a real treat that club DJ’s should immediately embrace.  It’s definitely rooted in 90’s and early 2000’s house music but if any influence might be prominent it’s Armand Van Helden.  The groove in “Right Here” kicks in early but it’s got these cool spoken word passages that will really draw people in.  And not only this, but the extended version sustains its 7 minute + length, allowing DJ’s to watch the fun that unfolds in front of them.  Famba’s “Right Here Right Now” is one of those finds you’ll want to put on repeat as hear more from what the young producer/DJ has coming up.  Give a solid listen at the link above.
